Revelation by Victor Acquista
Conspiracy theorists will delight in this thrilling novel that has everything you need to satiate your thirst for plotting, scheming and all those other things that lie beneath the surface of civilization. Revelation (BHC Press) by Victor Acquista, the sequel to Serpent Rising (BHC Press), is chockful of mythology, esoteric elements, adventure and conspiracies that have carefully been weaved into a story that will keep readers glued to their seats from the first page to the last!
A NAIL-BITING ADVENTURE
Revelation starts off with a sinister scene that will immediately plunge the reader into the clandestine, sometimes uncomfortable, arena of conspiracies. Here, we get our first taste of the antagonist, which is none other than the Illuminati. Their whole purpose is similar to what one may hear on social media — to orchestrate cataclysmic events in order to achieve an end goal where the masses are under their complete control. However, where in real life we only hear about the bad, Revelation gives us a polar opposite force: Serena Mendez, along with an ancient society that has ties to Atlantis, is set to throw a wrench into the works by saving humanity.
Of course, that’s just the backstory of the thrilling adventure that has enough suspense, twists, and thrills to truly entertain those tin-foil hatters (*cough* like me).
A FEMALE PROTAGONIST AKIN TO LARA CROFT
While I was reading Revelation, I couldn’t help thinking that the protagonist, Serena Mendez, was reminiscent of Tomb Raider‘s (Dark Horse Books) Lara Croft. Something about her just gave off those vibes, and I truly enjoyed that about her. I also liked how impeccably researched the book was and how the author was able to weave so many threads into a juicy story. In fact, after completing my read, I went down some rabbit holes myself in the search for knowledge on the New World Order, simply because I wish the book was longer.
THE PERFECT READ FOR THEORISTS AND HOBBYISTS
Readers would benefit immensely from reading the first book in the duology, Serpent Rising, but if you’re big on political intrigue, history, mythology, conspiracies, and the sort (much like me), you’ll be able to follow the story easily enough.
What’s more, Revelation is a memorable read that will inspire you to check out some well-documented conspiracies. The possibility of Atlantis still existing may be a good place to start for those who would simply like to dabble in conspiracy theories, but if you feel up to it, there are some interesting developments in the New World Order conspiracies. This duology is a great place to dip your toes into it — Fiction? Maybe — but, depending on who you ask, Revelation may share some insight into a veiled world.
