In 2008, Steve Melen received a cancer diagnosis that changed everything. Facing a grim fifteen percent chance of survival and an intensive recovery ahead, Melen found himself addicted to painkillers, abusing alcohol and in a crumbling marriage. His inspiring memoir, Killer Graces, chronicles his journey through some of life’s biggest challenges.
We talked to Melen about his recovery, fatherhood and his positive outlook on any obstacle life throws his way, a perspective that he wants to share with other people facing circumstances similar to those he did thirteen years ago.
