The Key to Happily Ever After by Tif Marcelo

In Tif Marcelo’s charming new novel, The Key to Happily Ever After (Gallery Books), she explores the delicate, yet iron-clad bonds of sisterhood by introducing readers to the de la Rosa sisters, three Filipino women who take over their mom’s wedding planning business.

Eldest sister Marisol, takes over as the Rings & Roses CEO and steamrolls her sisters into doing things her way. To complicate matters, Mari tells off a new neighbor who happens to be related to her most important clients, which then evolves into a charming enemy-to-lovers romance. Along the way, she is forced to confront past traumas so she can move forward.

Janelyn, the middle sister, manages the numbers and her seven-year-old son. Her family disapproves when she reconnects with an old flame. Ever in the middle, she has to learn to stand out and up for what she wants.

Pearl, the youngest, yearns to take on a larger role beyond Rings & Roses social media manager, and fakes a relationship with her best friend’s brother to woo the wedding clients of the year, until things become a bit more real.

Between competition moving into the neighborhood, managing a meek bride with a difficult fiancé, and an unseasonable snow storm, the sisters are at odds, especially when Pearl demands to manage the wedding of the year.

Marcelo draws from her own experience living in Washington DC and as an #OwnVoices author to create authentic depth in the novel. Fans of her previous novels will also recognize some Easter eggs at the end which may result in some food truck cravings.

I love stories about female relationships and with weddings, family, romance, and all the drama that goes with it, Tif Marcelo’s charming novel will have you smiling all the way down the aisle.
