Welcome back to the enchanted forest of S’moresville, where we join siblings Strawberryhead and Gingerbread during the most wonderful time of the year: Christmas! Join in the holiday fun as we read authors KF Wheatie and KM Wheatie’s latest installment of The Adventures of Strawberryhead and Gingerbread, The Magic Sleigh Ride.
Santa Brings Christmas Cheer
We begin our tale on Christmas Eve, finding Strawberryhead and Gingerbread decking the halls of their treehouse with twinkly lights and sparkling ornaments, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Santa Claus. After the siblings bid each other goodnight, Santa Claus zooms across the world in a glowing red sleigh and lands on the siblings’ rooftop. Santa slides down their chimney, only to find the sweetest of treats and a lovely note.
Overcome with joy, Santa fills their stockings with presents and toys and takes his treats without making a sound. After sharing some treats with the reindeer, Santa guides his magical sleigh to take flight and continues spreading Christmas magic to other boys and girls in the frosty night. On Christmas morning, Strawberryhead and Gingerbread wake to find their home overflowing with presents!
The Perfect Holiday Gift

KF Wheatie, nicknamed Strawberryhead, was diagnosed with autism as a child. KF has a strong faith and works hard in school. She is a 2024 college graduate with a B.A. in Fine Arts and Music Minor. KF makes it her mission to make new friends as often as possible. She plays the flute in a church band and is also a classically trained professional harpist. Her hobbies include art, Broadway, and travel.
KM Wheatie is nicknamed Gingerbread. Because he looked like a cookie to his mother when he was little, she always pretended to take a bite out of him. His sister KF was sure that her brother would grow back after their mother took a bite out of him. Diagnosed with autism at a very young age, KM preferred to play alone as a child. It was not that he did not want to interact with other kids; he did not have the social skills necessary to play with them. He turned his love of map reading into a serious hobby. He is a 2024 college graduate with a B.S. in Environmental Science (GIS) and Art Minor. His hobbies include riding roller coasters, travel, and hiking.
KF and KM Wheatie were raised by their mother, who is a staunch advocate for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She instilled in them their faith and belief that all their struggles, loneliness and hardships were adventures leading to a path of success. They believe in accessibility and inclusivity for all people. They also enjoy spending time with their English black Labrador, Solomon.
