Less than a week out from Valentine’s Day, you don’t need superhuman senses to know that love is on most everyone’s mind, but if you want to turn the heat up this February, a superhuman romantic hero is definitely the ticket. And, if it’s heat you’re after, there’s no use wasting time on vampires (they may be passionate, but their pectorals are pretty much stone-cold) or the most attractive of men in designer suits (even Christian Grey only clocks in at 98.6 degrees, ladies). You want werewolves, wolf-shifters. Not only are these supernatural creatures fiercely loyal, they’re also hot, literally! So, skip the heart-shaped chocolates (canines can’t eat those anyway) and feast on one (or all six) of these super-steamy shifter romances.

Taryn, a latent wolf shifter with impressive healing abilities, has two big problems. First, her Alpha father is determined to form an alliance Roscoe Weston, the leader of another pack. The arrangement might be beneficial for her father, but it would require her to become Roscoe’s mate for life. As if the idea of submitting to the abusive Roscoe weren’t enough to turn her stomach, enter problem number two: Taryn has just been kidnapped by none other than Trey Coleman, the Phoenix Pack’s dangerous Alpha.

Trey has no interest in taking a mate; he’s preparing for war. If he has any hope of winning the impending battle, however, he’ll need to make alliances quickly. Kidnapping Taryn doesn’t seem like the most straightforward method to accomplish this, but if the Alpha’s daughter pretends to be mate, he would gain invaluable respect and support. This arrangement would also make Taryn’s Roscoe problem disappear. This mutually advantageous, albeit unconventional, plan has its risks; their growing attraction to one another could present yet another problem … or not. Addicted to Romance calls it “blazing hot, sweet yet spicy, and … a delectable treat you can bite into!”

The lives of three individuals are about to collide in passionate and unexpected ways. Ashley’s marriage ended when her husband left her for another woman … but not before stealing thousands of dollars to shower his mistress with. That said, her problems seem mundane in comparison to the trials Gethambe and Lana, two human/wolf half-breeds, prepare to face. Before he can take his place as leader of his pack, Gethambe must enter Edom and survive seven fights to the death against fallen angels. Meanwhile, Lana, arranged to marry Gethambe, must prove her courage and intellect to the elders.

The supernatural world spins into a frenzy with Ashley’s arrival in the Arizona desert. Her scent permeates the air and calls to Gethambe. They’ve yet to meet, but he desires her. Lana worries about what Gethambe’s rejection will mean for her future not only as his bride but in the pack. And Ashley, never having imagined that this world of shapeshifting immortals could be real, has no idea what perils and pleasures lay just beyond her doorstep. Highly erotic and sensual, readers have declared Skinwalkers “truly original and captivating.” (Read our review.)

Lawyer Neha Ahluwalia cannot deny her attraction to her wolf-shifter client, Joe Peluso, even if he is guilty as sin. Then again, his actions, while absolutely criminal, aren’t entirely condemnable … unless you ask the Russian mob. Joe took out the men responsible for his foster brother’s death, and in doing so, became enemy number one of New York City’s supernatural underworld. After a revenge hit goes south, getting disbarred is the least of Neha’s worries; she and Joe both have huge targets on their backs.

Big Bad Wolf takes a new approach in portraying its supernatural world: the existence of shifters and other supernatural creatures came to light after the 2016 presidential election, adding a layer of political and social intrigue to fast-paced plot replete with super steamy romance. “The chemistry between Neha and Joe was phenomenal,” praises one reviewer. “Filled with witty dialog, intriguing, independent and relatable characters,” this story promises readers titillating suspense and some seriously intense heat.

In this story, exposure of the supernatural isn’t an option. Necromancers control everything in this world, and one whiff of enchantment could make a magically-inclined person disappear; so they must hide. Barbara’s particular supernatural talent allows her to find books easily. So, she works as a research assistant at a university in Prague, diving into and connecting with the world of magic covertly. It’s a risky move, and the arrival of Tobias, the visiting professor running her latest assignment, complicates matters. He’s a werewolf, and they’re quickly growing close to one another.

If you read a lot of paranormal romances that involve werewolves, Silvera’s leading man may stand out from the pack … literally. Unlike the genre’s typical werewolf hero, who embraces his inner beast and feels a deep sense of belonging and kinship to his pack, Tobias represses and seems to be at war with his supernatural nature. He does have werewolf brothers, but the familiar Alpha/Beta pack roles aren’t prevalent. It’s an interesting departure, but the romance between Barbara and Tobias, as one reviewer insists, is “the absolute best mix of sweet and sexy.”

Mika has unwittingly come to visit her uncle, advisor to the Alpha, during werewolf mating season. This shouldn’t be an issue; she’s human and under her uncle’s pack’s protection. But four wolves have cornered her in an ally anyway, and Mika knows she’s in serious, possibly mortal, danger when they don’t back down despite her warning. She makes her escape when another werewolf intervenes, but now, he wants payment for rescuing her.

Deciding Mika needs constant protection until the danger has passed, her uncle hires half-breed Grady, her handsome rescuer, as her bodyguard. His childhood made him believe that humans weren’t trustworthy, so although the beast within wants to take Mika as his mate, Grady does everything he can to suppress those desires. Suddenly thrown together in close quarters, Mika decides to make the best of the situation. With an undeniably sexy man right down the hall, why shouldn’t Mika have a little fun? Be prepared, as one reviewer notes, “the steam is off the charts hot!”

Adam Sloan is a werewolf, the Alpha’s oldest son and heir. Lana Turpin, on the other hand, has no family. She has no idea what happens when she blacks out during the new moon each month, and she definitely doesn’t know why some mysterious organization has been trailing her. And when her gaze locks with an attractive stranger at a diner, she has no idea how close her life came to ending. Ordered by his pack to terminate any jaguar shifter that might expose their kind, Adam knows he has to take care of the woman across the restaurant, but as he approaches Lana, he realizes instinctively that she is his mate.

In an instant, both their lives are forever changed. Adam, fated to love his natural enemy, must protect Lana from his pack, and Lana, completely in the dark about the entire supernatural world, must accept who and what she truly is. “The romance is turbulent and there are some big surprises,” teases one enthusiastic reviewer. “A must-read if you enjoy Sherrilyn Kenyon, Larissa Ione, or Kresley Cole.”
