The book that changed your life:

Well, I read a lot, so I’m not sure I can pinpoint one book that changed my life. I can say that I fell in love with reading at a young age and the most memorable books from my childhood were Heidi by Johanna Spyri, The Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder and everything ever written by Judy Blume.

Your favorite literary character:

I have too many characters that I’ve favored over the years to name one. I love a strong heroine. A character who won’t give up and comes into her own throughout the story. Some of my favorites are Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, Allie from The Notebook, and Abby Abernathy from Beautiful Disaster.

Currently working on:

I just finished the first draft of Beautifully Flawed, book two in the Shine Design Series. I loved writing Elle and Maverick’s story because their characters are complicated and passionate. THINK feisty Southern Belle meets stubborn NFL football player! Lots of tension and swoon worthy chemistry!

Words to live by:

It’s not about how many times you get knocked down—it’s about how many times you get back up! (Yes, I’m a diehard Rocky fan!)

Advice to new and aspiring authors:

Read and write as much as possible. Read everything you can get your hands on in your genre. Set writing goals to keep yourself on track. Reach out to other authors, as the writing community is extremely supportive. Most importantly, don’t let rejections get you down. Take what you can from each one of them and move on! Put your head down and work hard!

Testimonials

Beautifully Damaged is an enticing romance which grips you within the first few pages. Laura Pavlov has a way of making you feel as if you are part of the pages you are reading. There are times when the heartache is so real it tears at your soul. A must read by this author! Kathleen, Goodreads Reviewer Beautifully Damaged is purely beautiful. This second chance romance had me feeling emotionally invested from the very beginning. From the first pages the dynamic between Jackson and Peyton is pure FIRE. Jackson is confidence, charisma and so much heart. This story is passion and angst and everything that makes it impossible to put the book down. An added bonus, Peyton and her two best friends from Shine Design are #squadgoals! This is a beautifully told story. FIVE STARS!
