Wendy Sand Eckel is the author of the award-winning Rosalie Hart Mystery Series, set on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Eckel, who studied criminology and earned a Master's Degree in Social Work, lives on the Eastern Shore and delights in the beauty, slower pace, and unique charm of this part of the world.

From a recent 5 star NewGalley review: How often have you read a book that nourished and embraced you, welcoming you into its warm atmosphere? Well, this mystery novel invites you in and asks you to stay awhile. This book, like the farm that Rosalie Hart, Tyler and Bini nurture together, like the name of the town and the river Cardigan suggests, grasps your shoulders like a sweater and takes you into its arms. Although most of the characters are a bit quirky, they have qualities that you would like in a friend. You want to stay awhile in this place. It reminded me of the Sue Grafton alphabet series with Kinsey Millhone, and Louise Penny’s Three Pines, another place in another novel with quirky but lovable characters, a place you wish was real. Let Cardigan gently embrace you and put out the welcome mat.

The Rosalie Hart Series is a cozy whodunnit, similar to an Agatha Christie book/film but with a lot more charm/any Louise Penney book from the Inspector Gamache series but again, with a lot more charm, warmth, and humor

The book is set on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, a flat stretch of land tucked between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The primary locale is similar to Chestertown, MD, a small, pre-revolutionary, college town surrounded by beautiful rivers, lush farmland, and just minutes from the Chesapeake Bay.
