Jesus' Every Word and Deed

by John C. Burkhalter

GENRE: Religious
PUBLICATION DATE: 07/14/2022
DESCRIPTION:

Because the first four books of the New Testament, known as the Gospels, provide separate viewpoints of Jesus’ earthly life, they naturally contain differences in details and events. These point to their reliability as independent eyewitness accounts. This book simply combines those four parts to present the complete story of Jesus’ life, teachings, death and resurrection, so that all the details and events are in one easy to read storyline. Overlapping duplication is eliminated, but the unique details of each are preserved, as only the exact Scripture wordings are woven together to provide the entire Gospel account.

Also, 59 Old Testament prophecies are inserted where they were fulfilled in Jesus’ life. And lastly (firstly?) to prepare the reader with some context, the Introduction provides a short summary of God's interactions with humankind, as well as an overview of basic understandings from the Old and New Testaments.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

John C. Burkhalter was active in leadership and governance roles of multiple churches for 30 years while secularly employed. He retired as President of THI Holding Company, a subsidiary of Nationwide Insurance Company, and for a period evaluated the effectiveness and financial stewardship of Christian ministries worldwide for prospective donors. He has spent the last 13 years assembling the scriptural weaving and associated parts of the book “Jesus' Every Word and Deed,” subtitled “Woven From the Scriptures,” as well as a variant subtitled “Readers Theatre Version” for potential play/screenplay use.

REVIEWS:

“Finally there is a resource that combines the four Gospels into one continuous and compelling account that makes the story of Jesus even more accessible to those who seek Him. Additionally, Old Testament prophecies that foretell Christ’s words and deeds are inserted in a way that enriches the whole and everything is color coded for easy identification. I commend John Burkhalter for his labor intensive effort that promises much reward for those who engage it.” – Tony Perkins, President, Family Research Council, Washington, DC.

“More than a decade in the making, this work melds the four eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ life into a single version to provide a concise perspective... Also conceived and formatted as a movie script, this document is a significant work with imaginative potential. It could be the basis for a landmark mini-series of film or TV.”– Derrel Emmerson, Ordained Pastor (retired); Christian Assembly, Vienna, VA; Minister of The United Methodist Church; Chaplain, US Army.
