Laura Newman’s second book of short stories, The Franklin Avenue Rookery for Wayward Babies will be released in January 2021 by Delphinium Books. One story in this new collection, "Swisher Sweets," was a finalist in LitMag’s Virginia Woolf Award for Short Fiction. Her first collection, Parallel to Paradise took gold in the Poynter’s Ebooks awards for short stories. Newman is an Addy Award and American Marketing Association winner for her production of PSAs combating heroin and other substance abuse issues in her community. She lives in Reno, Nevada.
