Jeffrey Dale Lofton

Jeffrey hails from Warm Springs, Georgia, but he now calls the nation’s capital home. He longed to tell stories and did so as an actor for years. Ultimately, he left the theatre to join the Library of Congress where he helped war veterans tell their stories, which are housed in the library’s permanent collection. Today, he is senior advisor at the Library of Congress, surrounded by books and people who love books—in short, paradise. All the while he wrote, and from that came his debut novel Red Clay Suzie, recently awarded the Seven Hills Literary Prize for Fiction and longlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize.
