Hollay Ghadery is the founder of River Street Writing, a collective of creatives who aim to produce and celebrate amazing writing and writers through content, PR and other communications. Hollay has her BAH in English Language and Literature from Queen’s University, as well as her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph. Her short stories, poetry, non-fiction and reviews have appeared in literary journals across Canada, including The Malahat Review, Grain, Understorey, The Antigonish Review, The Fiddlehead and Room. Her work of nonfiction, Fuse, won the 2023 Canadian Bookclub Award for Nonfiction/Memoir. The title poem of her debut poetry collection, Rebellion Box, was awarded The New Quarterly’s 2022 Nick Blatchford Prize for Occasional Verse. She is also the author of Widow Fantasies, a collection of short fiction, and has a novel forthcoming in 2026 and a children’s book in 2027. Hollay is a host on The New Books Network, as well as a co-host on HOWL on CIUT 89.5 FM. She’s the Regional Chair of the League of Canadian Poets and a co-chair of the BIPOC committee. Hollay is also the Poet Laureate of Scugog Township.
