A Literary “Eruption”

Michael Crichton, master of the techno-blockbuster world, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years before his untimely passing in 2008. Now James Patterson, master of the modern thriller, takes up the mantel to finish what Crichton started in the most anticipated mega bestseller in years: Eruption. The Big Island of Hawai’i is about to be destroyed by a history-making eruption — but a secret held for decades by the US military is far more terrifying than any volcano.

Ta-Nehisi Coates’ First Nonfiction in a Decade

Ta-Nehisi Coates, NYT bestselling author of Between the World and Me, originally set out to write a book about writing, but found himself grappling with deeper questions. In The Message, Coates travels to Palestine, Senegal and South Carolina, three resonant sites of conflict, to explore how the stories we tell — and the ones we don’t — shape our realities. The book hits shelves on October 1.

Bill Gates’ Upcoming Memoir

Bill Gates has announced his debut memoir, Source Code: My Beginnings, to release next year. Source Code is not about Microsoft or the Gates Foundation or the future of technology. It’s the human, personal story of how Bill Gates became who he is today: his childhood, his early passions and pursuits.

Martin, executive producer and creator of the novels, says the series will be much shorter with a much different tone. Check out more details about the upcoming series here.

“Mirrored Heavens” by Rebecca Roanhorse

This epic tale of celestial prophecies, political intrigue, and forbidden magic that began in the NYT bestseller Black Sun, and the interwoven destinies of the people of Meridian, will come to a stunning conclusion in the final installment of the Between Earth and Sky trilogy.
