First Look at “A Gentleman in Moscow” Adaptation

Amor Towles’s bestselling novel, A Gentleman in Moscow, gets a sparkling adaptation in Paramount’s new limited series starring Ewan McGregor. Adapted by Ben Vanstone and largely directed by Emmy nominee Sam Miller, the series follows a witty count as he’s forced to spend the rest of his life inside a luxury hotel.

In 1922, Count Alexander Rostov (McGregor) is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, and is sentenced to house arrest in Moscow’s grand Hotel Metropol. Rostov must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside, while the count gains a deeper understanding of what it means to be a man of purpose.
