Obsidian Detective by Michael Anderle

For anyone familiar with the paranormal sci-fi genre, it is difficult to imagine you’ve never heard of the indie author Michael Anderle. With over 600 novels written since 2015 either individually and/or as collaborations, he is the most prolific writer in the space today. width=

His latest project, the 12-book OPUS X Series (LMBPN Publishing), is drawing raves from fans and critics alike. UFE Interstellar News calls it “an incredibly good, fictionalized accounting of humanity’s future and what Jai Lin and Erik Blackwell uncovered that shook the foundations of both the powerful and the elite.”

It starts with book one, Obsidian Detective. On the fringes of human space, a murder will light a fuse that sends the lives of two very different rebels colliding. Jia lives on Earth, where peace among the population is a given. Erik stays on the fringe of society, where authority is measured by the firepower you wield. She’s the youngest daughter of a powerful, elite business family. He’s a 30-year veteran of military operations.

Both want the truth — but is revealing the truth good for society?

THE MYSTERY THAT DETERMINED HUMANITY’S FUTURE

The events of the OPUS X Series were set in motion years prior to its opening, on a small moon in a far-off system set to be the location of the first intergalactic war between humans and an alien race. That war never happened. However, something was found there, and many were willing to kill to keep it a secret.

For Erik, it’s beyond a mystery — it’s personal.  The sole survivor of the massacre of his people on that moon, his thirst for vengeance has set him on a course to track down the killers and find out what had been hidden there. With Jia’s indomitable will to dig for the truth and serve justice by his side, he is sure to succeed — or die trying.

width=Together with Emma, an experimental AI created by the military, they build a team of skilled agents in a quest to uncover and destroy a vast conspiracy of lies, crime and corruption burrowing deep into the halls of power and spanning the Solar System — and beyond.

Riding shotgun to the thrilling adventure and mystery elements of the series is the chemistry of these formidable heroes: the strong and sexy Jia and the powerful Erik. She’s smart; he’s tactical. They may have very different reasons for doing what they do, but together, they sizzle on the page.

The OPUS X saga continues through the recently released Crucible of Truth, book twelve of the series, in which Erik and Jia take their war to the highest levels in the Confederation — only to discover that not everyone desires change.
