Mary discusses her courageous female sleuth, Kelly Pruett, who was inspired by characters like Sue Grafton’s Kinsey Millhone. Although Mary claims bravery is not one of the traits she and Kelly share, Mary definitely doesn’t play it safe when it comes to her writing — she’s a fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants kind of gal.
