As a young adult author, I’ll let you in on a little secret: no writer could survive without book vloggers and bloggers. These are the readers who champion our books, who help connect us with fans, and who just make the whole writing process a ton of fun.

Book bloggers don’t just run popular websites either –- they’ve also taken to YouTube, where they create video after video celebrating their love of the written word. Everyone here at BookTrib is obsessed with watching book hauls, and it’s how many of us get reading recommendations any time we’re in need of a new story or series to dive into. So in honor of all those tireless book vloggers, here are six of our favorite YouTubers, and the videos that made us fall in love with them:

Katytastic

Kat has so much energy and her videos are always upbeat, quirky and fun. Sometimes she even brings her fellow book vloggers onto the show for games, challenges and more. All her videos are worth a watch –- and there are some great hauls! -– but I personally love the upload where she dives into her favorite book couples:

Books Beauty Ameriie

Ameriie is kind of incredible. She’s a fiction writer, a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, and a vlogger! Her videos combine all of the things she loves, from books to beauty tips. It’s the perfect channel for those of us who love makeup just as much as reading. Here’s her latest book vid, “The Top 10 Books I Own to Read in 2016”:

Books and Quills

So many book vloggers mainly focus on young adult or middle grade novels. But Sanne, who’s based in England, has a wide range of interests, including graphic novels and the international book market. Her reviews are honest and in-depth, and her voice is crazy soothing. Here’s her latest graphic novel haul:

A Book Utopia

Sasha is super bubbly and watching her videos is like hanging out with a best friend. She has a ton of different features on her channel, including book reviews, Q&As, and some bookish How-To’s. She’s also pretty immersed in the world of book publishing and was even an extra on Divergent! Find out more about Sasha in her “25 Bookish Facts About Me” vid:

Hails Heart NYC

Hailey is a vlogger from Canada who’s clearly a voracious reader across a lot of different genres. Plus her lipstick game is on point. Her reviews are smart and honest, and she has some of the best book hauls around. Seriously, check out how massive January’s was!

Between Chapters

I’m kind of in love with the way Trina uses fun editing techniques and upbeat music to create unique videos that instantly pull a viewer in. She’s also really honest, not just in her reviews, but in how she presents her life to the world. It leads to some pretty interesting vids, including traveling to bookstores with her! Here’s her “February Wrap-up,” mostly featuring new YA:

Rachel Carter

Rachel Carter grew up surrounded by trees and snow and mountains. She graduated from the University of Vermont and Columbia University, where she received her MFA in nonfiction writing. She is the author of the So Close to You series with Harperteen. These days you can find her working on her next novel in the woods of Vermont.
