Let’s be honest, for the most part everyone loves a good love story. HEAs (Happily Ever After, for those of you who are new) are what I live for, whether it’s a book or a movie. Contemporary romance literally has my heart. So it makes complete sense that Harlequin books are top on my reading list. For this week’s Heat Index, I decided to list the new Harlequin reads that I’ve had on my list and that never disappointed me once I hit the last page. I’m pretty confident they won’t let you down either. Plus, you know, there are those covers! #swoon

Hard Rain: The Montana Hamiltons, B.J. Daniels (March 22)

b.j.-daniels-hard-rain-coverThermometersHard Rain continues to satisfy readers. Crossing multiple genres, Daniels successfully combines Western romance, suspense and political intrigue with ease.” —RT Book Reviews

Heat Index: Brody McTavish has loved Harper Hamilton for as long as he can remember. But when he rescues her from her runaway horse, Harper is none too happy with his show of chivalry; As far as she’s concerned she can take care of herself. The twist? When Brody and Harper come across human remains, secrets from the Hamilton family history start coming out, putting people Harper cares about in danger. Brody may just be the shoulder Harper needs to lean on, but can she trust him enough to let him help? This sweet and suspenseful fourth book is a perfect addition to The Montana Hamiltons series.

Cowboy Strong: Wild Western Heat, Kelli Ireland (February 23)

kelli-ireland-cowboy-strong-coverThermometers“The evolution of [Ty and Kenzie’s] complex emotional bond is what makes this story shine.” —RT Book Reviews

Heat Index: Rodeo rider Ty Covington’s world is turned upside down when an accident in the ring lands him (and his horse) in the hospital. Thanks to the connections of his rich and gorgeous rival, Kenzie, who he’s been casually sleeping with, Ty is getting the care he needs. But now he’s indebted to her and he’s really not happy about it. When the push and pull between Ty and Kenzie moves into overdrive, he quickly realizes that keeping things casual with Kenzie may no longer be an option. Do you see that cover?! That’s really all I needed to convince me, but the story sealed the deal. Obsessed with this series and Ireland’s storytelling.

One Night Charmer: A Copper Ridge Novel, Maisey Yates (April 19)

maisey-yates-one-night-charmer-coverThermometers“Sierra is a sympathetic character readers can cheer for, and Ace is the perfect foil for her from the very beginning. This one is a real charmer! —RT Book Reviews

Heat Index: Ace’s book is here in the fourth installment of the Copper Ridge series! Sierra West needs a job ever since she realized her entire life has been a lie. And unfortunately, she had to turn to Ace Thompson. Now that Ace is her boss, resisting him should be simple, especially when he makes it a point not to sleep with his staff. But one night changes everything and he begins to see her for more than the spoiled little rich girl he thought she was. She could just be everything he’s looking for and more, but is she really worth the risk? Steamy and perfect, Yates hit this one out of the park. Consider me: charmed.

Sleepless in Manhattan: From Manhattan with Love, Sarah Morgan (May 31)

sleepless-in-manhattan-sarah-morgan-coverThermometers“Snappy dialogue, well-developed characters, and the details of the three women’s hard work to build their company mix with sweet romantic tension between Paige and Jake.” —Publishers Weekly

Heat Index: Paige Walker has not let her sickly childhood hold her back from accomplishing her dreams. As an events planner in NYC, the work never ends. Until that is, you get fired. Now, she’s starting her own events company from the ground up. And her big break just might come in the form of her brother’s gorgeous best friend, Jake Romano, who also happens to be the guy who broke her heart. Working with Jake only proves there’s still heat between them, but could sleepless nights lead to something more? Sarah Morgan slays with this new series and I’m so, so sad I’ve finished the first book because that means I’m now waiting until September for book 2, Sunset in Central Park. If I could use a crying emoji here, I would.

Fighting Dirty: An Ultimate Novel, Lori Foster (February 23)

lori-foster-fighting-dirty-coverThermometersMrs. Foster has teased us with Armie and Marissa (Rissy) during the Ultimate series and we finally get their HEA in Fighting Dirty, and it was well worth the wait.” —The Book Nympho

Heat Index: I’ve got an author crush and her name is Lori Foster. I can’t get enough of her novels and book four (and the final book) in the Ultimate series is no exception. FINALLY, Armie’s book! Armie is about as Alpha Male as you can get and he wants, no loves, the one person he doesn’t think he deserves, Rissy. (OMG, he’s perfect already!) But then he has to save her, and all bets are off because she’s as determined as ever to prove she’s the girl for him. Will his secrets scare her away or will she accept him for everything that he is and more? I devoured Fighting Dirty and apparently I’m not the only one. It sat on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists for 2 weeks in a row! It’s all that romance should be and I’m beside myself that the series is finished. You won’t be upset you picked up this gem.
