When I love a show, I want as much of it as I can possibly get. Spoilers, teasers, insider info, secrets from the set: I will seek it all out and more. This is why I’m such a huge fan of spinoffs—more time in a world I’ve come to know and love? Yes, please. I recognize, however, that spinoffs can easily break your heart. They so rarely live up to the original material, often making you wish you were rewatching the show you actually love. Fear the Walking Dead Prep: Snacks to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse

Hungry people in zombie shows have been doing it all wrong. I’m often shaking my fist at these fictional characters and yelling at the TV, wondering why Carl from The Walking Dead is so excited about acquiring a stinking can of chocolate pudding. He probably almost had his arm chewed off just to get it, not to mention that those food runs they’re constantly making are dangerous and produce nothing but boring processed foods. They probably should have just been making jerky all along. Watch These Three Shows Before Fear the Walking Dead Premieres

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with the apocalypse. I’m both fascinated and horrified by the idea of some cataclysmic event, which will undoubtedly launch us into a crazy dystopian world where everyone wears leather and teens battle each other to the death in improbable arenas. Ahem. From a storytelling standpoint, the apocalypse is a treasure-trove of redemption tales, horrifying choices and messed-up love affairs. This is probably why I gravitate toward stories like this, and why I can not wait for the new The Walking Dead spin-off on AMC, Fear The Walking Dead, which premieres August 23.
