Jane Austen inspires a witty new web series: Project Dashwood

in Fiction by

Webheads love a great Jane Austen web series! Starting this week is the long-awaited Project Dashwood, a modern adaption of Sense and Sensibility, set in southern California. BookTrib got the scoop on the new series from the its creators, Alayna Mae, Maeve O’Connell, and Jessamyn Leigh. Lit for Webheads: What is the premise of Project Dashwood? Project Dashwood: It is the life of Elinor and Marianne Dashwood as seen through the eyes of their younger sister, Margaret. She’s into film and trying her hand at vlogging, so she films everything that happens to her family. The story starts three weeks after her father dies. LFW: Where do you film? PD: We all live in Eugene, Oregon, and shoot there, mostly…

Hey Webheads, thinking of producing your own web series?

in Potpourri by

So watching Lit for Webheads  has inspired you and you want to shoot your own literary web series. All a Webhead needs to get started is an idea, a computer and the right production equipment. Since few of us know where to start, we’re here to help! Recently a young producer I know invested in basic equipment. She is just starting out, so a lot of thought and research went into balancing cost with practicality. As inspiration, let’s look at what she uses. To upload HD quality video either directly or indirectly to the internet, and livestream to a tablet, she has a Canon VIXIA HF R52, with an added camera pan table. It also has a removable data card…

But we agree with #1 in the LBD Care Center fan poll, Episode 70, when Knighthouse becomes a thing—“At Last.”   “Don’t grow up; it’s a trap!” There is so much we love about The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy that it would fill a page (and it did in…

Web series brings favorite books to life

in Fiction by

We webheads love to watch our favorite books come to life. Long before there was vlogging, we got our fix from the silver screen. Swooning over Colin Firth and Matthew McFadyen as Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice made us wildly impatient to see Pemberley Digital’s elusive William Darcy. Alicia Silverstone’s adorable Cher in Clueless was a reminder that we would eventually grow to love Joanna Sotomura’s Emma. And, confess it—thanks to numerous versions of A Christmas Carol, aren’t we secretly hoping to see a black-robed specter carrying a long-handled scythe visit Alice? SIGHTINGS You have to watch the adorableness of Knighthouse, Joanna Sotomura and Brent Bailey, caught on camera shipping themselves during the filming of Emma Approved. … And…
