Winter’s Fury (2019)

Collision of Lies (2020)

Your biggest literary influences: Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings is one of the first novels I remember reading and it remains a favorite. Tom Clancy’s early books drew me in like nothing I’d read in years. My favorite quote regarding writing comes from Clancy: “The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.” And Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth is probably the book I’ve read most often. Love it.

Last book read: A Woman of No Importance by Sonia Purnell

Currently working on: the sequel to Collision of Lies

Advice for aspiring authors: Find a critique group that will give you honest feedback, unlike friends and family who don’t want to hurt your feelings (or your mom who thinks everything you do is wonderful). Learn from successful authors via books, podcasts, videos, conferences, whatever. And there’s a reason professional editors aren’t cheap. . . they’re worth it. You’ll get one shot at a reader. Lose them with your first book, and you’ve likely lost them forever.
