Jon Land is the USA Today bestselling author of 48 books, including ten titles in the critically acclaimed Caitlin Strong series, including Strong as Steel. Most recently, Jon has taken over the Murder, She Wrote book series based on the fabulously successful television show starring Angela Lansbury. His first effort writing as “Jessica Fletcher,” A Date with Murder, was published in May of 2018 and was followed by Manuscript for Murder, Murder in Red, and the latest, A Time for Murder, now available.
He also wrote the film Dirty Deeds, a teen comedy that follows the exploits of a high school senior attempting to complete ten impossible dares in a single night.
He is a 1979 graduate of Brown University, lives in Providence, Rhode Island and can be reached at jonlandbooks.com or on Twitter @jondland.

Biggest literary influencers:
Robert Ludlum, Stephen King, Clive Cussler, David Morrell, Harold Robbins, Sidney Sheldon, James Lee Burke
Last book read:
Two Kinds of Truth by Michael Connelly
The book that changed your life:
The Matarese Circle by Robert Ludlum because it’s the quintessential thriller against which I measured all of my early work.
Your favorite literary character:
James Bond because he helped define the thriller genre and is the hero against which all contemporary thriller heroes are judged. His character gave birth to the likes of Scot Horvath (Brad Thor), Cotton Malone (Steve Berry), Mitch Rapp (Vince Flynn) and Pike Logan (Brad Taylor) just to name a few. The Bond books also made the genre infinitely more accessible thanks to the wonderful early films that starred Sean Connery, for my money the only James Bond.
Currently working on:
Strong from the Heart, Book 11 in the Caitlin Strong series, and Capitol White, the (fictional) sequel to the great book and film Donnie Brasco, co-written with Joe Pistone.
Words to live by:
Love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life.
Advice to new and aspiring authors:
Tell a great story and enjoy writing it as much as you want us to enjoy reading it.
