About Brian K. Hannaford

Brian K. Hannaford was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Truly a Renaissance man, he is multitalented in many fields, with a great many hobbies and areas of interest. Among these, he acquired the gift of psychic ability early in life. Hannaford’s upbringing was the stuff of horror films, forcing him and his siblings to grow up quickly. God was present in his life from the very beginning and persists to this day.

BOOKS:

Mercy for None

This is the true story of five children, who suffered 14 years of torture at the hands of a possessed, murdering, psychopathic dad. It is a tale of suffering and deliverance, and the mysterious operation of the supernatural in the author’s life. His life has been a long road, filled with pitfalls, stormy days, danger and an eventual rise above it all. Child abuse can no longer be ignored, and through this book, the author hopes to incite legislation, increase faith and awareness, and glorify God in the process.

Q&A WITH THE AUTHOR

What can you tell us about your book?

I would not be alive right now if it were not for my guardian angel, who stopped me from committing child suicide. My suffering was more than I could bear. I have always felt God inspired me to write this book, to testify against society’s apathy. There are certain consequences yet to be paid by the world for not caring. I have been searching for years for someone to endorse this book — not for me — but for the kids. But there has never been anyone willing.

What do you hope readers will take away from reading your book?

Mostly knowledge and hard-won insights, perhaps inspiration to further the cause.

Who is your target audience? What kind of reader would like your work?

Social science, Christian faith, and supernatural buffs. There are none that would “like” my work, but it does tend to serve the curious.

If you were to describe your book as the cross between two others, which books would you compare it to?

My book could be compared to A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer or The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls.

If your book were to be turned into a movie, who do you envision playing the main characters?

I have imagined that Adam Driver would be a great actor to play the role of my horrible dad. He has the look and the ability. But does he like hate mail?

What was the most difficult part of writing your book?

Reliving the heartache, nightmarish memories, that often bring back a flood of pain and tears. Those such as myself carry around a tremendous amount of inner pain, taking much strength/effort to contain it, in order to live day to day.

Who are your literary influences?

I grew up reading many science fiction books, but most of all, I read the bible 15 times, word for word.

Who is your favorite literary character?

Believe it or not, my favorite literary character might be Zorro/Batman/Tony Stark. Those who enforce justice.

What book changed your life?

The good book, the Bible; it imparted much wisdom.
