ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Michael Newman is the son of Hungarian Holocaust survivors, escaping to Canada during the 1956 Hungarian uprising against Communist rule. He served in the Canadian armed forces and was on the front lines of the Second Israel-Lebanon War in 2006, returning to blog for Canada’s daily newspaper, the National Post, on the War. He is a retired real estate executive and lives on Toronto, Canada’s waterfront with his wife and dog.
