Gloria Morris Murder Mysteries
by G.R. Browda
DESCRIPTION:
Hollywood has no shortage of fierce female leads — "Kill Bill," "Atomic Blonde," "Red Sparrow" — but where are the women private detectives? Enter the Gloria Morris Murder Mysteries, a sultry, gripping series with a heroine who fills that void and then some.
Gloria Morris is a frisky, quick-witted San Francisco P.I. with a taste for fine literature, a weakness for beautiful women, and tenderness for the innocent. She moves through the city’s seedy alleys and ornate high-rises with ease, solving crimes, seducing lovers, and dishing out harsh justice to the guilty. In an entertainment landscape hungry for more iconic female leads, Gloria is the answer: sexy, cerebral, explosive.
Written in razor-sharp, hardboiled prose with a pulpy heart and philosophical edge, this series blends noir tradition with contemporary heat. High-octane action, steamy romance, political underworlds, and whip-smart dialogue — all against a vivid San Francisco backdrop.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
G.R. Browda is the Californian author of the Gloria Morris Mysteries series. With a master’s degree from the University of California and a 2nd dan black belt in Okinawan Karate, Browda combines a love of San Francisco with high-octane action to create a unique niche in the murder noir mystery genre.
“I’m familiar with San Francisco’s ethnic, architectural and epicurean nooks and crannies. My fiction describes the exotic areas of The City; they are like characters in the stories.”
G.R. Browda admires the beauty, humor and energy of hardboiled, colloquial American English and writes in that style.
REVIEWS:
“Gloria is on a mission to locate an heiress who thinks she can protect herself from the dangers lurking. When the heiress finds herself vulnerable, Gloria faces tough choices.
As usual, there is never a dull moment when Gloria is on the case. At every turn danger awaited her, the same as it awaited the young heiress she was desperately trying to find. As a mystery, it is difficult to share too much about the story without spoilers, but I had no idea what Gloria was going to find herself dealing with this time, and was even surprised by how shocking some of it was.
Gloria handled it all really well, managing to have a few moments of light relief in between all the fast-paced activity. Each time that she uncovered something new, it led to further discovery that the heiress wasn’t as capable as she first thought she was. I was so glad she had Gloria on her case though. She’s tough, determined, and leaves nothing to chance.
A great addition to the series!” — LESBIreviewed
