We got the chance to talk with Richard Todd Devens, author of Dialogues With the Wise Woman — a book that blends fiction and philosophy to create “the perfect read for intelligent skeptics everywhere.”
Scammed by an evil Las Vegas con artist, main protagonist George Sistern descends into a deep depression; and even after three years, his pain, guilt, self-loathing, rage, and desire for revenge remain. Through an acquaintance, he contacts Mildred Markowitz, a psychologist and philosopher of genius who solves problems “like a dentist extracts a rotten tooth.” Through their fictional sessions, Devens depicts a no-holds-barred search for truth that encourages readers to utilize their own rational judgment.
