“Shōgun” Leads the Emmy Nominations

FX’s adaptation of James Clavell’s historical drama, Shōgun, is making history this year as it dominated the 2024 Emmy announcements with 25 nominations. The nominations include best drama, best dramatic actor/actress, supporting actor and guest actor, as well as a slew of technical categories including costume design, production design, stunt performance and sound editing. Amazon Nabs a Showrunner for “Fourth Wing” Series Adaptation

Emmy Award-winning Moira Walley-Beckett — Anne With an E creator and Breaking Bad writer — has signed on to join Amazon’s upcoming adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’ bestselling romantasy, Fourth Wing. Ursula K. Le Guin’s timeless classic A Wizard of Earthsea is reimagined in a richly expansive graphic novel by artist Fred Fordham, creator of stunning adaptations of To Kill a Mockingbird and Brave New World. Le Guin’s literary masterpiece tells the story of Ged, a young sorcerer whose hunger for power looses a terrible shadow upon the world. The graphic novel hits shelves in March.

The highly-anticipated Dune prequel follows the origins of the clandestine Bene Gesserit sect, taking place 10,000 years before the original story. The series is inspired by the novel Sisterhood of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.


Gypsy-Rose Blanchard to Narrate Audiobook for Her New Memoir

Her whole life, Gypsy-Rose was denied a voice. Now, she’s using her voice to tell her iconic story in the audiobook of her upcoming memoir, My Time to Stand. The memoir and audiobook are set to release this December — one year following her release from prison after being subjected to medical abuse and playing a role in the 2015 killing of her mother.

Academy Award winner Emerald Fennell looks to have found her next feature project as she teases on X an impending adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic Gothic romance, Wuthering Heights. No word yet on who will star or distribute.
