Be Your Own Inspiration by Dr. Christina Rahm

Dr. Christina Rahm’s third book in her Cure the Causes series, Be Your Own Inspiration, stands out as a unique and comprehensive guide to self-discovery, self-empowerment and self-evolution. It’s not just another self-help book, but a transformative journey that starts with the self.

Rahm’s approach is not just theoretical, but highly practical. She provides us with a new framework for thinking about ourselves and others, our past, present and future, our strengths and weaknesses, and our barriers to growth. Moreover, she equips us with strategies to apply these frameworks in real-life situations, helping us build our mental and emotional muscles toward adaptability, confidence and joy.

Q: Be Your Own Inspiration is the third book in your Cure the Causes series. Tell us about the series and how this book fits into it.

A: My personal message for the entire Cure the Causes series is simple: “Live the life you want and not the one prescribed by someone else,” which is poignantly described in my scientific teachings throughout the series. My books and lecture series come down to the importance of “emotional, mental and physical improvement of health” by detoxing the body and subsequently integrating appropriate nutrients. Though important to note, Cure The Causes does not claim to cure any diseases. Instead, the message weaves us through why illness can happen to anyone, and how types of healing can take place by zeroing in on the root cause instead of the symptoms. As discussed extensively, we are wrought with toxins and heavy metals. Cleansing, detoxifying and excavating harmful environmental invaders can help our body function at a more optimal capacity, as it was created to do.

Cure The Causes Cookbook takes the messages a step further by focusing on cooking with specific types of foods and/or ingredients designed to address certain physical and mental ailments. The recipes range from nutritional disciplines to combat inflammation and disease, support auto-immune disorders, anti-viral directives and bacterial infections, all the way to remedies for fungal overgrowth, and even parasitic cleansing. Other recipes include anti-cancer regimens, protocols for arthritic disorders, depression, dementia, autism, Parkinson’s and even Lyme disease. The Cookbook also provides ingredients and guidelines to help one learn how to assist the body in managing various types of disease states and ailments by consuming better eating choices. By doing what is right for the body, we can reduce inflammation (often caused by sugar, dairy, gluten, caffeinated drinks and heavily processed foods), which can inadvertently cause chronic health issues and medical complications.

Q: What first inspired you to write this book?

A: As part of the Cure the Causes book series, Be Your Own Inspiration provides tools to identify an individual’s passion, to live a life which aligns with their values. My parents, teachers and those who I title, “my heroes,” have helped me attain philosophical values, which evolved into my own inspirational decision to become a mother of four amazing children, a scientific formulator, humanitarian, patent innovator and now, author. I draw a considerable amount of my own experiences, combined with my extensive knowledge on health/wellness topics, to provide readers with tools to take charge of their own well-being. Life is a beautiful puzzle. We are each imperfect pieces to this puzzle. Inspiration comes to all of us in diverse ways; for me, it is the books I read, the people I meet and the lessons I learn through challenges, victories and failures.

Additionally, Be Your Own Inspiration focuses on human beings having a complex relationship with change. While unavoidable and fundamental for development, change can become uncomfortable. Change can create conflict; change can create grieving;this book gives readers the tools to begin the ever-evolving process to become their own inspirations. One of the primary messages is to always observe yourself and find the underlying cause of what needs to be changed; practice consistency; set logical goals; search in the mirror; surround yourself with people who will be honest with you; and finally, face challenges head on.

Q: As your website and bio attest, you are involved in many ventures across several disciplines. How do your various areas of expertise inform your approach to health and wellness?  And what makes your approaches unique?

A: My various ventures across different disciplines provide me with a holistic perspective on health and wellness. For instance, my background in psychology helps me understand the mental aspects of wellness, while my experience in nutrition and fitness informs me about the physical aspects. This multidisciplinary approach allows me to tailor recommendations and strategies that address the whole person, considering both mind and body. What makes my approach unique is the integration of insights from different fields, creating a comprehensive framework for individuals to achieve optimal health and wellness.

Q: What are your recommendations for readers to get the most out of Be Your Own Inspiration?

A: To get the most out of Be Your Own Inspiration, I recommend readers approach it with an open mind and a commitment to self-reflection. Treat it as a guidebook rather than a prescription, using the insights and exercises provided to explore your own goals, values and motivations. Embrace the journey of self-discovery and empowerment that the book offers and be willing to experiment with different strategies to find what works best for you. Remember, the key to inspiration lies within yourself, and this book is simply a tool to help unlock it.

Q: What’s next on your list? Either another Cure the Causes book, or a different project altogether.

A: As for what’s next on my list, I’m constantly exploring new projects and avenues for making a positive impact. While another Cure the Causes book is certainly a possibility, I’m also intrigued by the idea of delving into different topics or mediums. Whether it’s writing about a new aspect of health and wellness, exploring a different genre altogether, or even branching out into other forms of media, I’m excited to continue expanding my horizons and sharing knowledge in innovative ways. Stay tuned for updates on my next endeavor!
