Dear Reader,
Today is a very special day for me — the release of A Fire in the Flesh. But not only is the day special, the journey to get here has been pretty amazing, too.
You see, when I first started writing the Flesh and Fire series, I always knew that the third installment — A Fire in the Flesh — would be a big book. It needed to cover Sera’s time in Dalos, how she becomes who you learn about in the Blood and Ash series, what happened in the realms with the gods, the embers… And, of course, Sotoria’s soul.
I knew the book also needed to deal with Nyktos’s kardia, his and Sera’s relationship, the prophecy, and who and what Callum is. Plus, it had to show you Kolis and more about his motivations (especially since this is your first opportunity to interact with him for any extended period of time).
But that’s only the start of my list.
Beyond all those things, I needed to show you how each character deals with the events in A Fire in the Flesh — and let me tell you, a LOT happens — and give you the Shadow Daddy time I think you might enjoy. *wink*
What came about is a big book, but one I hope shows you Sera’s journey in a very real way. This is a tough one for her, but to become what she needs to be, the path is crucial.
So, I’ll repeat what I’ve often found myself saying with all things Flesh and Fire and Blood and Ash … Brace yourself.
