The Path to Emotional Greatness by Kenya Lee

What's It About?

The Path to Emotional Greatness starts off as a memoir where she discusses how she overcame relatable life-challenging circumstances and self-limiting behaviors.

“The fact is self-awareness is our key to making the right decision for our life’s path and ultimately obtaining happiness throughout our endeavors.”

The world has changed drastically in the past few years, and it has become all the more apparent that society as a whole doesn’t necessarily have the tools to carry the burdens of life anymore. We are exhausted, mostly angry, and it feels like we’re always waiting for the other shoe to drop. As a result, we are mentally unequipped to figure out how to start fixing ourselves in order to fix our lives.

Trials and Tribulations in the Pursuit of Happiness

Kenya Lee’s The Path to Emotional Greatness: Yielding to Personal Transformation (EGYPT) starts off as a memoir where she discusses how she overcame relatable life-challenging circumstances and self-limiting behaviors that could have easily broken her at any given time — if she allowed it.

From defeat, abuse, shame, guilt and a myriad of other experiences, the reader is granted access to Kenya Lee’s darkest moments to see how she somehow managed to find joy and peace.

What’s more, sprinkled in between her gripping tale are snippets from her personal journal entries. Some of these entries are positive, others deal with difficult topics that can be triggering to some. However, this necessary addition to The Path to Emotional Greatness shows readers that no matter what problems you run into, there is always a way to come out better.

Setting Yourself Free Emotionally

What specifically made me pick up The Path to Emotional Greatness was the hope of setting myself free emotionally, which is exactly what Kenya Lee was able to do. Sometimes, the world just gets too much to handle, and it’s not easy getting out of your own head. Giving up, giving in, just wanting the world to stop for a minute so you can take a breath … All of that can be mentally debilitating, and it can negatively impact those around you.

Kenya Lee, however, made sure to include a 30-Day Plan to check in on yourself every morning and evening to really help you evaluate how you are feeling, what you have achieved that day, and what you are thankful for. This part of the book is similar to a self-help guide, which has daily quotes to keep readers motivated, and gives anyone who is serious about setting themselves free emotionally a moment to do some introspection.

Grants Readers the Power to Change Their Lives

“Wherever you choose to go in your life is entirely up to you. No one else has the power to dictate your destination.”

As Kenya Lee states in the abovementioned quote from her book, only you have the power to change your life, but The Path to Emotional Greatness is a great starting point that will lay the foundation for readers who want to truly begin working on themselves.
