“You can’t throw a dart at a calendar of the sixties without hitting a major Beatles or space event,” says Ronald P. Grelsamer, author of Into the Sky With Diamonds: The Beatles and the Race to the Moon in the Psychedelic ’60s, and if anyone should know, it’s him.
By day Grelsamer is one of America’s leading orthopedic surgeons, but his realm of knowledge extends far beyond his medical practice at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He’s a noted expert on all things ’60s and one of the premier collectors of Beatles and space memorabilia. He is also a frequent lecturer at some of the world’s most prestigious universities on the cultural and scientific ramifications of the ’60s.
In this interview, Grelsamer shares many of his exciting anecdotes about his favorite subjects … including a personal run-in with one of The Beatles!
