Did you know that six million people are living with Alzheimer’s in the U.S. alone, and that two-thirds of those affected are women? Join us today on Heart to Heart with Dr. Nieca for a discussion on topics that include brain health, symptoms of dementia and the next steps you should be taking to protect yourself.
Dr. Nieca is joined by Dr. Sarah Kremen, director of the Neurobehavior Program at the Jona Goldrich Center for Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Kremen is a behavioral neurologist who sees patients with memory, language and other cognitive disorders due to Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. Her research has focused on clinical trials and observational studies of people at risk of developing Alzheimer’s and those already diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment and dementia due to Alzheimer’s.
Dr. Kremen is actively engaged in educational efforts to improve the evaluation and detection of dementia in the primary care setting and to raise community awareness about Alzheimer’s and other dementias. She is a member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Council for Alzheimer’s Los Angeles.
Tune in below or on our Facebook page at 1:00 p.m. ET. In the meantime, you can learn more about brain health by visiting the You & Your Brain webinar series on HealthyWomen.org.
