Join us on BookTrib’s Facebook page today at noon EST for a conversation with Otho Eskin, author of The Reflecting Pool (Oceanview).
The novel is the first in a new series about Marko Zorn, a cynical D.C. homicide detective who’s got gritty side work going with some unsavory characters. When Zorn investigates a murder that exposes the dark side of the U.S. Government and an illicit love affair in the White House gone fatally wrong, he finds himself caught between feuding criminal gangs, a domestic terrorist group planning to buy illegal weapons and start a revolution, and forces within the government determined to cover up the murder. As a lawyer and former diplomat, Eskin served in the U.S. Army and in the United States Foreign Service in Washington and in Syria, Yugoslavia, Iceland and Berlin. He was Vice-Chairman of the U.S. delegation to the United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea, participated in the negotiations on the International Space Station, was principal U.S. negotiator of several international agreements on seabed mining and was the U.S. representative to the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space. All of it makes for fascinating background experience to this author and playwright’s work.
Taking a spin in the interviewer’s chair will be Jon Land, prolific bestselling author of the Caitlin Strong and Blaine McCracken series and several books in the well-known Murder, She Wrote series, among many others. You won’t want to miss this one!
