Michael Okon is an award-winning and best-selling author of multiple genres including paranormal, thriller, horror, action/adventure and self-help. He is a screen writer, as well. He graduated from Long Island University with a degree in English, and then later received his MBA in business and finance.
Coming from a family of writers, he has storytelling in his DNA. Michael has been writing from as far back as he can remember, his inspiration being his love for films and their impact on his life. From the time he saw “The Goonies,” he was hooked on the idea of entertaining people through unforgettable characters.
Michael is a lifelong movie buff, a music playlist aficionado, and a sucker for self-help books. He lives on the North Shore of Long Island with his wife and children. He also sometimes writes under the pen name Michael Phillip Cash.

The book that changed your life:
The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles. It wasn’t about writing a great novel and letting the manuscript sit on a desk in my library. It was all about writing a great novel, getting a literary agent, getting an entertainment attorney, getting a film agent, getting my first published book optioned, pitching my ideas to major Hollywood Studios, and writing a screenplay that is being circulated in the industry.
The basic gist of The Science of Getting Rich, is that anything you want in this life is attainable. And this book showed me how to do it.
Your favorite literary character:
My favorite literary characters are the monsters in books. These creatures represent our deepest, darkest fears and facing those fears helps us overcome them.
Currently working on:
Monsterland Beneath (Book III). A screenplay for a studio. Two more novels, one a young adult superhero story, and the other my take on “Creature From the Black Lagoon.”
Words to live by:
“There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which in its original state, permeates, penetrates and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought in this form will manifest what ever you want.”
Advice to new and aspiring authors:
The days will be long, but the years are going to fly. Don’t stop writing, and put your goals down on what you desire. The Universe will deliver. Guaranteed.
