Breaking News: Emmy-Nominated Actress Kathryn Hahn to Release Picture Book, ‘My Wish for You’

Entertainment Weekly just revealed that Emmy-nominated actress Kathryn Hahn is releasing a new book, My Wish for You.  The news of the book, which iillustrated by Brigette Barrager, is so new that only EW has a picture of the cover. Published by Scholastic, EW says, “The book is fashioned as an honest, heartfelt reminder to girls at every age and every stage of the beauty and strength that resides inside each of them. It’s a poignant, encouraging reminder to mothers, daughters, and friends of the importance of simply being yourself.”


Inspired by her own child, Hahn wanted to produce something that built on the bold displays of womanhood and femininity that can be found in her acting work. Hahn is known for her work on the Amazon series Transparent, and I Love Dick. This is Hahn’s first book.

Kathryn Hahn was born in Westchester, Illinois. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and later attended Yale Drama School. Hahn’s stage experience includes the Huntington Theater Company’s production of Jon Robin Baitz‘s “Ten Unknowns”, with Ron Rifkin of the former ABC series, Alias. Kathryn is currently on the show Transparent. She lives in Los Angeles and has a daughter.

Aisha K. Staggers has been writing since middle school. She had her first major publication in her local newspaper's entertainment section while a sophomore in high school, a publication in another state paper followed. Aisha has been contributing to various paper, magazines and textbooks for over 15 years. In addition to her time as an instructor of social sciences in higher education, Aisha has served as a director of education and policy research centers, and on the staff of legislative commissions. Aisha previously served on the Executive Board of the CT Young Democrats Women's Caucus and has remained active in politics and public policy. She is an alumni of Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT and Fisk University in Nashville, TN where she earned Bachelor's and Master's Degrees, respectively, and completed the South Carolina Education Policy Fellowship Program in 2008. Currently, Aisha is Senior Editor for BookTrib, a division of the literary public relations firm, Meryl Moss Media. In addition to her own work, Aisha will be writing the liner notes for an upcoming Prince tribute album and contributing a chapter to a 2018 scholarly work on Prince and the Minneapolis Sound.
