S.H.I.N.E. and WIN by L.T. Lewis

Welcome to 2017! You made it. Let the happy dancing commence.

Your vision board is made and prominently placed to be seen daily. You’ve made your New Year’s resolutions and are full of confidence that you will accomplish them all. You vow to be your best self yet. Better health. Advance in your career. Save more money. All doable but what is your exact game plan? I suggest you S.H.I.N.E.!

51DoSWeEA6LI wrote an Amazon bestselling book, S.H.I.N.E. and WIN: 5 Keys to Conquer the Fear of Failure. In it, I reference the S.H.I.N.E. and WIN blueprint I created to demystify the 5 keys to get you from where you are today, to where you want to be tomorrow.

S.H.I.N.E. is an acronym for show up honestly, intentionally, no excuses. It’s a wash, rinse, and repeat process, and with it, you will win every time.

“Show up,” signifies that when you have a fear of failure, you often don’t show up. You hide out; You live a mediocre life, and you do just enough to get by. I walk you through what it means for you to show up and different ways that you can show up so that you can accomplish your goal and get beyond that fear of failure. What is it that you want to do, and how can you accomplish that? You can’t do it sitting at home. There are ways that you must show up. If it’s a new job, or if it’s a promotion that you want, to get that promotion, you must turn in that application. You should express the desire that you want the promotion, and you have to verbalize that. For single people like myself, showing up is going out. Mr. or Mrs. Right, nine times out of ten, is not going to knock on the door. It’s not going to be the mailman; it’s not going to be the FedEx or the UPS person. Going out and being social is showing up.

“Honestly” and authentically is “how” you show up. Honest and fully exposed in the sense of your desires and who you are. You have to bring everything that you are to the table and not hold anything back. You only get what you give; no more holding back. Be fully present. Show up honestly.

“Intentionally” is your laser focus. What is your thought process? What is the goal that you have in mind? If it’s to meet someone, then you have to go into target-rich environments. Our intentions are going to guide us in the right direction, place, and time to accomplish that goal. If you don’t have a clear intention, then you will end up with these hits or misses. That’s when you end up in the job where you think, “Oh, this is not quite what I wanted.” That’s when you end up in the relationship where you may feel, “I said I wanted these things, but I didn’t think I wanted these other things as well.” So, you should be clear and focus on what you want.

“No” is your response to limiting beliefs and people not in alignment with your plan. I love no. No is a complete sentence. That’s it: no. If it’s not in alignment with your core and with your intentions, then no. You’re not going to settle for anything less than the best. If you’re going after and conquering this thing called failure, you’re not going to settle for anything less than the best that God has for us.

“Excuses” are no limiting beliefs and no longer a part of your vocabulary. Excuses are a dime a dozen. Excuses are just another reason to turn around and go in the opposite direction, and that’s not what you want to do because now, you’re showing up. You’re learning to be honest with yourself and honest with others. You set the intentions, going in the right direction, not accepting any shortcuts; you’re not accepting anything short of what your heart desires. No excuses. In 2017, you’re not giving excuses, and you’re not accepting excuses. There’s the good news.
