Eat_Your_Drink_Have you been rushing home every day after work to watch the 2016 Summer Olympics? Is one of your favorite past times creating viewing parties around your current TV obsession? If my suspicions are correct, the following advice has you covered for the ultimate Olympics viewing party. Deck your house in gold, silver and bronze décor and gather around to watch the games with friends and family.

If you’re feeling extra ambitious, create some Olympic-esque hurdles and other obstacle courses in your yard to get your guests moving. They’ll work up an appetite in no time. In honor of the host country, settle in with some traditional Brazilian eats. Fried bar foods like cod fritters or Pao de Queijo (bread balls with grated cheese) are a classic staple. You can also slow-cook mouthwatering barbecue the Brazilian way a la churrasco.

For drinks, the sky’s the limit. If you’re looking for unusual ideas for the perfect libations, try one of my favorite cocktail recipe books from 2016, Eat Your Drink: Culinary Cocktails by Matthew Biancaniello (Dey Street Books, March 2016). Try this Coconut-Lemonade for a new and delicious twist! Start with a chilled glass full of ice and add 3 ounces of Cascade Ice Coconut, 4 ounces of Cascade Ice Lemonade and 2 ounces of citrus vodka. Garnish with sliced lemons and a sugar rim.

For this fun concoction, start with Cascade Ice Blueberry Watermelon sparkling water, next muddle strawberries and blueberries just a bit to release the flavor and serve over ice. If you want to make it an adult beverage, add a splash sparkling wine. Garnish with strawberries and blueberries and get ready to root for Team USA!

This season’s fresh favorite is sure to be the Sunrise. Take two parts Cascade Ice Strawberry Orange Mango, one part orange juice and a shot of rum. Add a handful of orange and strawberry slices. Stir well and serve over ice in a cold glass!
