Variety reports that Max von Sydow of The Exorcist, The Seventh Seal, Star Wars and Minority Report fame has been cast to play the Three-Eyed Raven in Season 6 of Game of Thrones.

Here’s why this matters: Arya was not the only Stark to find a master. It’s easy to think that’s true, especially considering the way House Stark is treated by both George R.R. Martin and the showrunners. Let us not forget that there are still two, yes two, living male Starks. When we last saw Bran (in Season 4), he lost Jojen Reed and finally made his way to the Three-Eyed Raven.

The Three-Eyed Raven is supposed to be the Morpheus to Bran’s Neo. Granted, there is no canon plot at this point for Bran and the Three-Eyed Raven, but when has that ever stopped executive producer David Benioff and writer/producer D.B. Weiss?

The Three-Eyed Raven is not the first notable recasting. However, since Game of Thrones upped the ante by casting two-time Academy Award nominee Sydow, this Bookish Diva thinks that they are taking Bran’s training very seriously. I am expecting more warging (talk about out-of-body experiences!) and revealing visions in the season ahead. With Sydow in the role of master, Bran’s training is virtually guaranteed to be something special. Then again, that’s what this Bookish Diva thought about the Sand Snake, but Benioff and Weiss could mess up like that twice, right?
