The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 opens November 21, and we can’t wait to watch Katniss kick some serious Capital ass. To where was she mysteriously whisked away at the end of Catching Fire? What, exactly, is District 13? When is she finally going to suck face with Gale?

Those of us who’ve read the book know exactly what to expect this weekend. But for the rest of you, here are 10 things to prepare you for the newest Hunger Games movie (minor spoilers ahead):

1. The Capital is out for blood.

Thought the Hunger Games were bad? Get ready for the rebellion. The Capital is pulling out all the stops to squash this uprising and they’re willing to use any tactic to do so. No one is safe—not even entire Districts.

2. Katniss is having a hard time adjusting…

…to being a national hero and a spokesperson for a rebellion she only just found out about. When the rebel leaders decide to make her the face of the uprising, they force her into the spotlight in a way that has serious consequences. Speaking of which…

3. Katniss still has a problem with authority.

Nothing in The Hunger Games is very black-and-white, and certainly not District 13, the rebel base camp. Is President Alma Coin of the rebellion any better than President Snow? Katniss struggles to find out, and the end result might not be very pretty.

4. The death scenes are gruesome.

Sure, kids killing kids was pretty bad. And we wouldn’t want to run into one of those robot-dogs in a dark alley. But Mockingjay introduces an energy beam that melts your flesh off and turns you into slime. No, seriously. Slime.

5. Katniss’s love life is rockier than ever.

Just when it seems as if Katniss might be finally, maybe, sort-of choosing between Gale and , the story throws you a massive curve ball. So whether you’re Team Gale or Team Peeta, be prepared for some serious feels.

6. People are going to die.

And not just faceless kids in the Hunger Games. People we know. People we love. People we really don’t want to die.

7. Minor characters step up to the plate.

Thought Finnick was hot carrying Mags around in Catching Fire? Get ready to watch him fight alongside Katniss in the rebellion. Same with Joanna, Plurach, Beetee—all those minor characters you barely remember are now major players in the coming battle.

8. Primrose has finally grown up.

Gone are the days where little sister Primrose cowered while Katniss took her spot in the Games. Now she’s older and ready to fight—whether Katniss likes it or not.

9. Peeta isn’t quite the boy we remember.

When last we saw Peeta he was being held captive by Snow while Katniss got away. How has his time locked up changed him? In more ways than you can possibly imagine. But don’t worry…

10. Gale is still hot.

Thank heavens.
