Favorite Books 7 months, 1 week agoI’ve been reading The Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling. I’ve been struggling through it, to be honest. Maybe having read the Harry Potter books, I was expecting something exciting from her first adult book. I’m just finding it very boring. Is anyone else reading or read it and what is your opinion?

Hi Silvrangel. I actually stopped reading Black Order. It wasn’t uninteresting, but I just wasn’t feeling it at the time. I hope to give it another shot later. I just finished reading Defending Jacob by William Landay, which if you haven’t read, I highly recommend. My weekend reading is The Third Gate by Lincoln Child.

I couldn’t really get into the Fowler book, so I moved on. Now I’m about 2 thirds through Afraid of the Dark by James Grippando and I’ve started reading Defending Jacob by William Landay. I’ve read most of Tess Gerritsen’s books. All of the Rizzoli and Isles series. I’ve read Heather Graham, but not the two you mentioned. I do have a copy of…[Read more]

Snatched was actually the first Karin Slaughter book I read. It was great, so I’ll probably read more. I enjoyed The Unseen. It’s a paranormal book that involves a series grizzly murders of women, both past and present. This is a Krewe of Hunters book with characters from some of her other books.
I have not read The Presence, but I will look for it.In reply to - bookdude12 posted an update in the group Favorite Books Finished The Cold Room and read a novella called Snatched by Karin Slaughter over the weekend. I’m now reading The Unseen by Heather Graham. · View -

I started reading James Rollins’ Black Order, I got about 80 pages in and I stopped reading it. It still has a bookmark. Maybe I’ll try again.

Hi Boookdude! I haven’t read any of his either. Have you read any of Tess Gerritesen’s msyteries? I really like her. Another favorite of mine well two really are, Haunted and Hurricane Bay by Heather Graham. But I also recommend Heather Gudenkauf’s These Things Hidden- a different kind of mystery. Let us know how that book you’re reading is. Angel

It was The Cold Room by Robert Knightly. It was the second book in the Harry Corbin series. The first being Bodies in Winter. If you like crime fiction, I would recommend both.

I’ve not read any books of Slaughter, but I have read a lot of Graham. But I haven’t read that one. Is it good? Have you read Graham’s The Presence? That is one of my favorite books.
