By the way, this is a 1981 book. I think it’s out of print. I found it on Amazon used books. Also, I think the gorilla is still alive.

I think this book was made into a movie a long time ago..the name of the gorilla is familar to me..seems like Helen Hunt was in it.

Ok..I looked it up for you..I was wrong..there is a movie with helen hunt but it stars chimpanzees not gorillas..sorry. But one of them in the movie is named Koko.

I looked it up, too, and couldn’t find it.
They probably named that chimp after Koko the gorilla.

Yes, I read it and was quite disappointed. It got so many great reviews. I think it’s a matter of taste. I love animal books, but there’s always the risk that the an animal book will sound like it was written for a young (preteen in this case) audience.
