BE A LOCAL HERO – SAVE HISTORY WITH STEVE BERRY!
Grab your cape and tights – you have the chance to be a local superhero for your town! For the first time ever, BookTrib is partnering with Steve Berry and History Matters to give you, our dear readers, the opportunity to nominate your favorite local historical sites that are in need of repair or restoration. The History Matters team will choose a winner, and Steve Berry will host a History Matters event to raise money for the winning cause!
As an international bestselling author of historical thrillers, there’s no doubt that history matters to Steve Berry. Out of his love for history and passion for writing, Steve developed a initiative called History Matters to raise funds for a wide variety of historic preservation projects around the country. The idea for the foundation was sparked by Steve’s travels around the globe researching his historic thrillers and finding that many of the world’s historic treasures are in a state of decay due to lack of funding for preservation.
To nominate your historical site you must submit a video featuring it along with an explanation of its historical significance and why you believe it should be selected. We are looking for passion so please make the best video you possibly can! All submissions will be featured on our new BookTrib.TV channel where other users can vote for their favorites. While the ultimate selection will be made by the History Matters team, the public votes will be taken into heavy consideration. To upload your video, simply click on the box below and follow the handy step-by-step directions!
The winner will be announced during Steve’s live chat E-VENT on June 27th, celebrating the release of his latest New York Times bestselling thriller The Jefferson Key.

The Jefferson Key
Four United States presidents have been assassinated—in 1865, 1881, 1901, and 1963—each murder seemingly unrelated and separated by time. But what if those presidents were all killed for the same reason – a clause in the United States Constitution, contained within Article I, Section 8, which would shock Americans.
This is the premise of Steve Berry’s seventh thrill ride in the Cotton Malone series, The Jefferson Key (Ballantine Books). Berry, a New York Times bestselling author printed in 40 languages, has kept 12 million readers in 51 countries on the edge of their seats with the exploits of his former Justice Department operative. Those adventures have taken Malone to all parts of Europe (The Templar Legacy, The Paris Vendetta), CAentral Asia (The Venetian Betrayal), Antarctica (The Charlemagne Pursuit), the Middle East (The Alexandria Link), and China (The Emperor’s Tomb). But never before has there been an American adventure.
In The Jefferson Key, Berry brings Malone home from Denmark for his most daunting challenge, as he and Cassiopeia Vitt race across the nation and take to the high seas. Along the way they break a secret cipher originally possessed by Thomas Jefferson, unravel a mystery concocted by Andrew Jackson, and unearth a centuries-old document forged by the Founding Fathers themselves — one powerful enough, thanks to that clause in the Constitution, to make a stealthy group of modern day pirates, known as the Commonwealth, unstoppable. The Jefferson Key is a mach-speed journey of excitement told by a master storyteller.
