How do I add an Avatar to my group?

When you click on your name (or avatar’s name) in the navigation bar you will come to your personal page. The top row of your navigation bar starts with the word Activity. In that row of choices you will see the word Groups followed by a number which represents the number of groups you have joined.  Select Groups, and a list the groups you belong to will be listed. Click on the group you have created. You navigation bar will now contain the word Admin. Select Admin and a new navigation bar will appear under the word Admin.  Select Avatar. You will not have the tools to upload your image.  Click on the word Browse which will allow you to upload an image that resides on your computer. Click on the image you’d like to upload. You image will appear accompanied by a cropping tool that will allow you to create your groups avatar.  Once you have determines how you want your image to look select Group Image.

How do I un-join a group?

Find the group you would like to un-join and click on the box Leave Group. That it!

How do I create a group?

To create a club, go to the navigation bar and move your mouse over the word SOCIAL.  A list of choices will pop down select BOOKTRIB CLUBS. This will take you to you the Groups Directory where the entire list of active groups. You can see all the groups you have joined by clicking on My Groups. Next to the title Groups Directory click on the button Create A Group  this takes you to a page where you will provide the details  for your group. Type in the name you would like to call your group in the Group Name box.  Then provide a brief description of the club to encourage people to join your club. This description will appear next to your club avatar. You will be able to access your description later if you’d like to make changes. Once you’ve filled in the Group Name and Group Description click on  Create Group and Continue If you want your group to be an open discussion with all members, leave the Enable discussion forum box checked. You also have choices for different levels of Privacy. Most groups are public. Anyone can join and chat with other members in the group. You can have a private club with particular members and be listed in the directory, or unlisted in the directory.  Once you decide click on  the Next Step. Step 3: Adding your Avatar currently has a work around. Continue to Next Step which allows you to invite people to your group.  Just click on particular members, no member (and do it later) or you can invite everyone! Select Finished.  Now you can go to “How do I add an avatar to my group?” to include an image for the group.

Mailing Address

How do I change my name for my mailing address information?

After you are logged in:
  1. Click on "Profile" which will be located under your avatar image.
  2. Click on 'Edit' - which is located under the word 'Profile" that you clicked in step 1.
  3. Locate the Full Name box and place your mailing name there. Many people placed there user name there which seems to trip up the mailing system with the publishers.
  4. Click: Save changes at the bottom of the screen. Your name and mailing address are provided to the publisher only when mailing you a book - all other info is fully protected by the system. We do not share or sell email information.
