There’s nothing more fun than imagining which actors or actresses will play the characters from your favorite book. Sometimes the actual casting nails it – like Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen! And sometimes, not so much – sorry Jamie Campbell Bower, you just weren’t meant to play Jace Wayland.

Regardless, imagining the cast of your favorite book can often be way more fun than actually seeing who Hollywood chooses for the roles. With that in mind, here are 4 of our favorite romantic book heroes and the actors we’d pick to play them in the movie:

Marlon Teixeira as Landon Lucas Maxfield (Easy by Tammara Webber, Berkley Romance)

easy-tammara-webberAny fan of New Adult has heard of Easy, the story of college student Jacqueline’s assault and Lucas, the boy who rescues her and eventually becomes her love. Lucas is a bad boy on the outside, with tattoos and piercings, but a softy at heart. Fans all over the Internet have picked Brazilian model Marlon Teixeira to play the sensitive hottie, and we couldn’t agree more! All he needs is a lip ring and some acting lessons.

Chris Pine as Cole Masten (Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre, Amazon Digital)

hollywood-dirt-alessandra-torreTorre’s novel about an actor who falls for a small town southern girl sucked us in from page one. A lot of it had to do with main hottie Cole, we’re not gonna lie. Cole is one of those perfect heroes: flawed but sexy, and totally willing to give up his playboy ways for the right girl. Together, protagonists Summer and Cole have this bantery, chemistry-charged relationship that’s both fun and super hot. Chris Pine looks like the right combination of classically handsome and charming jerk, which is exactly why he’d make the perfect Cole.

Ian Somerhalder as Brian Ross (Rock Me by Cherrie Lynn, Samhain Publishing)

ian-somerhalder

rock-me-cherrie-lynnWhoa, this is one hot book. And Brian is one hot, tattooed, pierced-up hero (those piercing also get pretty, um, intimate). When he falls for virgin Candace, we see his softer side come out too, though he never stops being a bad ass tattoo artist. Let’s just say we never thought we’d want to get felt up at a Korn concert before reading this book. Brian needs to be handsome with an edge, so our pick is Ian Somerhalder. Can’t you just picture him covered in tattoos? We’d actually pay good money to see that.

Jamie Dornan as Josh Scott (Forever and a Day by Jill Shalvis, Forever Romance)

Jamie-Dornan-Hairstyles-2015-82

forever-and-a-day-jill-shalvisWe have such a soft spot for Josh, the single dad doctor who romances his new dog walker/nanny in the sixth book of Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor series. (We have a soft spot for MOST of Shalvis’ heroes, but that’s beside the point). He’s steady, stable, charming, and just what down-on-her-luck Grace needs. We definitely picture a clean-cut hottie like Jamie Dornan in this role. He might not have much chemistry with Dakota Johnson in 50 Shades of Grey (we still love you, Jamie!), but we’re into his buttoned up –- but secretly naughty -– look.
