NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR CARLA NEGGERS ANNOUNCES “MY FAVORITE LIBRARY” CONTEST
New York Times bestselling author Carla Neggers volunteered at her local, small-town library when she was a teenager. When she met her husband, he was working at the historic Congressional Library in Boston, MA. Today, as a successful author of bestselling novels, she continues to have a soft spot in her heart for local libraries, even making the heroine in her new novel, THAT NIGHT ON THISTLE LANE, a small town librarian.
To celebrate the publication of her new book, Carla has announced the Thistle Lane “My Favorite Library” Contest, inviting readers to tell her, in 100 words or less, why a local library deserves to win $1,000. The author will select the most compelling entry, awarding the cash prize to the specified library to spend however they deem most appropriate in addition to a selection of Carla’s books. The winning entrant will also receive a selection of Carla’s books as well as a gift basket of New England products, personally selected by the author.
The contest marks the debut of the author’s newest release, THAT NIGHT ON THISTLE LANE (Harlequin MIRA, February 2013, $7.99 U.S./$9.99 CAN.). In this second book in Carla’s Swift River Valley series, a New England librarian discovers a hidden room filled with Hollywood-style gowns in the library where she works. Wearing one of the gowns to a Boston costume ball, she dances with a stranger dressed as a swashbuckling pirate. They’re surprised by their instant attraction, unaware of their close connections. When they work out each other’s identities with a little help from their friends, they find themselves faced with even greater mysteries to unravel.
Each entry (one per reader) into Carla Neggers’ “My Favorite Library Contest” should tell Carla in one hundred (100) words or less why a particular library deserves to win the prize. There are two ways to enter the “My Favorite Library Contest:” 1) Readers may email entries to cneggerscontest@tbtpr.com or 2) may submit entries via postal service. To enter via postal mail, hand-print (or type) on an 8 ½” x 11” plain piece of paper, full name, mailing address, telephone number, the 100-words-or-less copy and mail to: Carla Neggers’ “My Favorite Library” at Truth Be Told, 183 Madison Avenue, Suite 1201, New York, NY 10016. Entrants are encouraged to submit, by email or postal service, photo(s) of the library they’re nominating for the Contest prize, but said photos will not affect, in any way, the chances of winning the Contest. The submitter of the winning entry will receive a selection of Carla’s books and a gift basket of New England products. The winning library will receive $1,000 and a selection of Carla’s books. Emailed entries must be received between 12:01 AM (ET) January 1, 2013 and 11:59 PM (ET) on April 1, 2013. Entries submitted via postal service must be received by April 1, 2013.
