Happy Pub Day, Bryan Mattimore and IDEA STORMERS

1) What is your personal favorite, go-to ideation technique?
Semantic intuition. It’s a word-combination technique that has you name an idea before you know what it is… and then use that created name to inspire a new product idea. It’s a counter-intuitive technique… and yet it always works!!
2) Which author (of fiction or non-fiction) do you find to be the most creative?
George Orwell. 1984 is such a brilliant book at so many levels. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (one of Orwell’s teachers at Eton) is almost as brilliant. I’m re-reading both right now.
3) Is there a product or service that you wish you invented?
Legos, and the weed wacker.
4) Do you have a favorite inventor?
DaVinci and Edison are tied for first place. I’m watching a Teaching Company course on DaVinci right now which is wonderful!
5) Favorite Childhood Book?
I loved Swiss Family Robinson because it had so many clever inventions in it. My favorite movie (by far) was The Crimson Pirate with Burt Lancaster because it was also filled with inventions that helped the good guys (the pirates) win!!!!
